Tuition Assistance

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville allows for active duty service members to use TA (Tuition Assistance) as a source of financial aid for funding college tuition. The Veterans Success Center staff are available to help guide you through the process for applying for TA. Our office is open from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday and we are located on the ground floor of Hodges Library. There are computers with military CAC card reading capabilities available in our office. Please stop by or call our office at 865-974-5420 if you have questions or need assistance.

Applying for TA

To apply, Military Personnel must first submit their Tuition Assistance through the appropriate portal (links are below).  Once the application is approved, the TA Authorization needs to be submitted to the Bursar’s Office via thirdparty@utk.edu along with a completed Third Party Billing Agreement form.

Military Personnel who utilize ArmyIgnitED will not have an authorization form to submit to Third Party Billing since all processes are handled via ArmyIgnitED.

The Bursar’s Office will place a TA Contract Credit on the account for the authorization total.    The Bursar’s Office will bill for payment through ArmyIgnitED or branch TA portal once the course charges are at 100% .

Forms and/or questions for Third Party Billing should be sent to thirdparty@utk.edu.
